[Rumor] - Nintendo Adds More Buttons

Click on the picture to the right for a larger version. Notice the small purple area in in the bottom picture on the WiiMote? Current speculation is marking this as a shoulder button for use when the WiiMote is tilted sideways like a NES controler.

I have often wondered if the amount of buttons (including those on the nunchuk) that I have so far seen would be enough for certain titles that use several toggle/combo functions. Including the new button what is the count at?

Assuming the button is real, we have 1,2, Pause, Back, Home, Up, Left, Right, Down, A, B, C, Z and Mystery Button.

Or, 14 buttons with the mystery, 13 without.

Gamecube had Start, A, B, Y, X, Up, Down, Left, Right, L, R, L Click, R Click, Z.

Or, 14 buttons. More if you count the C Stick being mapped to controls.

Don't forget that motions can replace button presses now.
